What is Lanoguard?
Lanoguard is a professional-grade, lanolin-based protective coating that prevents corrosion by sealing out water, salt, and oxygen. It’s non-toxic, safe on all vehicle materials, and far more environmentally friendly than traditional wax oils.
When applied correctly, it forms a flexible, self-healing barrier that protects the chassis, suspension, and vulnerable components from rust and decay.
How long does a Lanoguard treatment last?
A typical Lanoguard application lasts around 12 to 18 months, depending on usage and conditions. For most vehicles, we recommend annual inspections and top-ups to maintain full protection.
Can you apply Lanoguard over existing coatings?
Yes, in many cases, we can apply Lanoguard over older coatings, but only after inspection and cleaning. If the surface is contaminated with oil, tar, or flaky underseal, we’ll remove it first to ensure proper adhesion.
That’s why preparation is the most important part of every job we do.
Do I need to clean my vehicle before bringing it in?
Yes, please make sure your vehicle is thoroughly cleaned, including the wheel arches and underbody, before your appointment. If you can’t do this yourself, we can handle the cleaning for an additional fee, just let us know when booking.
What is dry ice blasting?
Dry ice blasting is a high-tech cleaning method that uses compressed CO₂ pellets instead of sand or water. It removes dirt, grease, and rust without damaging paint, coatings, or electrical components, leaving a clean, dry finish ideal for protection or restoration.
It’s especially popular for classic cars, restorations, and vehicles that need to retain factory finishes.
Is dry ice blasting safe for all vehicles?
Yes, it’s a gentle but effective process that doesn’t use chemicals or abrasion. We adjust pressure and pellet size to suit the surface, ensuring it’s safe for metal, rubber, and plastics.
Can I combine dry ice blasting with Lanoguard protection?
Absolutely. In fact, it’s the ideal preparation method before applying Lanoguard. It ensures every surface is clean, dry, and ready for coating, which improves long-term bonding and durability.
How should I look after my vehicle after treatment?
After Lanoguard application, avoid washing the underbody with high-pressure water for the first 48 hours. After that, normal driving and light cleaning are fine.
We recommend gentle rinsing with a hose or low-pressure wash every few months, especially in winter.
How often should I have my underbody checked?
We recommend an annual inspection, ideally before winter to assess wear, damage, and salt exposure. Regular checks keep protection effective and catch small issues before they become major repairs.
Do you work on all types of vehicles?
Yes, we work on everything from small cars and family vehicles to vans, 4x4s, and classics. Each job is assessed individually to ensure we apply the correct cleaning and protection process.
How far in advance should I book?
We usually book out one to three weeks in advance, depending on the time of year.
If you have a specific date in mind, please get in touch early to secure your slot.
Can I wait while the work is being done?
For most underbody services, we recommend dropping the vehicle off for the day. We’ll update you by phone or message when it’s ready for collection.
